Sarah Mackay, DC

Dr. Sarah Mackay, has been a licensed Chiropractor for over 20 years. She is excited to  serve within the Encinitas community. She joined Sage Health in 2018 after many years of owning and managing the ROC Wellness Center in Mission Valley, where she practiced with her husband. Over those years she had three children and then sold the practice once her husband graduated law school. 

Dr. Sarah focuses her care on gentle to moderate force adjusting techniques for all ages. She listens to what each patient feels comfortable with regarding treatment. Her goal is to assist the body towards optimal health.  Chiropractic is beneficial at any age and can enhance quality of life.  By preventing degeneration, increasing range of motion and changing posture it will optimize how your body functions, strengthen the immune system and assist in disease prevention.  Dr Sarah utilizes diversified technique, SOT, activator, flexion/distraction, ART techniques, rehab exercises along with nutritional guidance to provide each patient the best outcome.  She is a Certified Chiropractic Pediatric practitioner and has completed coursework through the International Chiropractic Pediatrics Association/Academy of Chiropractic Family Practice and the Council on Chiropractic Pediatrics specifically Webster technique.

Raised in the Los Angeles area. Dr. Sarah earned her Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Biology (Applied Ecology) from U.C. Irvine. Then began working as a food chemist. Back pain and illness began to overcome daily living and so began a pursuit of alternative health and wellness. She moved back to Los Angeles to assist her family with operations and research for their family owned nutraceutical company.  Prompting her to then pursue even further her passion of health. She then graduated Cleveland Chiropractic, Los Angeles in 2002.

For many years she was an adjunct professor at National University writing and teaching coursework related to combining therapies and practices of conventional medicine and complementary alternative medicine including healing environments, Ayurvedic practices, TCM, and Tibetan practices.

She is a devoted wife and mother. Married to Colin Mackay, DC JD and blessed with her children. Miles, Molly Joy, and Bobby. Daily activities include carting the children to hockey, baseball, lacrosse, water polo and church. Hobbies are pilates and barre classes along with trying to find fun and joy within the day and help others feel joy as well.
