Christine Chang ND
Dr. Christine Chang is a Board Certified Naturopathic Doctor, Licensed acupuncturist and Chinese herbalist. She was born and raised in the
northern part of Taiwan. While growing up there, she had witnessed how
balanced nutrition and active health lifestyles helped people to prevent certain illness and optimize the quality of their lives. From a young age, she knew she wanted to advocate the importance of preventative health care and to help people obtain better quality of life.
In her practice, she utilizes her passion with nutrition, lifestyle
coaching and combining Chinese medicine and naturopathic medicines to
tailor personalized treatment for her patients. Her clinical background includes extensive training in women’s health (e.g. PCOS, PMS/PMDD,
menopause, hormone imbalance), fertility/prenatal care, throughout
pregnancy and postpartum care, adrenal health, emotional supports and pain managements.
She is a Fellow of the American Board of Oriental
Reproductive Medicine (ABORM) which is a group of internationally recognized Chinese medicine clinicians and many researchers whose mission is to provide integrative and evidence-based cares. She is passionate to work with women on their fertility journey including postpartum care with acupuncture, naturopathic medicine, homeopathy and nutrition. With other modalities like cupping, moxibustion, herbal supplements, hormone prescriptions and vitamins injections, she is also experienced in helping patients with insomnia, depression and anxiety, digestive dysfunction, musculoskeletal pain, adrenal fatigue, thyroid imbalance, infertility and hormone imbalance.
Dr. Christine is committed to empower her patients to understand their bodies and make appropriate decision for their health through the knowledge of nutrition, health habits, and emotional well-being. She firmly believes that health is a collective term that built on an immensely connection between mind, physical and emotional balances. These three aspects have great impacts on one another, and it is essential to
recognize the imbalance in order to achieve the whole person wellness. She works closely with each patient by evaluating these three aspects when identifying the underlying causes of illness. She values highly with the
innate healing each body equipped when opportunities are given, thus she strives for the best cares to meet patient’s needs.
In her spare time, she enjoys taking her son to zoo, music class and visiting various hiking trails and beaches in San Diego. She loves trees and sounds from the ocean and hoping her son will learn to appreciate the
medicine and healing from nature.
Dr. Christine is so honored and looking forward to working with her patients in partnership of their healing journey, helping them to achieve the goals of their healing process and well-being.
Naturopathic Services
Initial Naturopathic Visit 75-90 minutes (Non-members $350, Members $300)
The first visit involves your ND take a comprehensive look of your both present and past health and medical history. During the first visit, your health goals and challenge(s) to your health concerns are addressed. Your ND will discuss in-depth questions regarding your current symptoms (and go through each body system), past medical history, medications use, dietary and lifestyle habits, family medication history and perform exams. A personalized treatment plan along with additional lab testing will be recommended for your specific needs. Also, a follow-up appointment will be scheduled at the end of the appointment.
Note: The fee does not include any lab testing cost. Some lab companies do take insurances and please discuss up front with your doctor for any of these questions.
Email policy: only for non-urgent issues. Emails serve to schedule appointments, to refill prescriptions and/or supplements and to clarify brief questions only. Your doctor will answer up to two follow-up emails for clarifying any question about the treatment plans. If new symptom and/or other conditions rise, please call to make a follow up appointment.
Naturopathic Follow-up Visit 45-60 minutes (Non-members $225, Members $200)
This follow up visit include explaining lab results ordered previously, cover any questions and feedback you may have since the initial visit. A comprehensive treatment plan will be provided at the end of the appointment.
Generally, after the first follow up visit, a 2nd follow up visit is schedule in between 2 to 3 months as your ND calls it a maintenance follow up. This type of visit is often recommended if there are other deep rooted or numerous health concerns we are working through.
Naturopathic follow up visit 30 minutes (Non-Members $125, Members $100)
Quick follow up mainly to monitor progress, add or modify treatment plans and to check in. This type of visit is helpful for patients have one set of basic lab result to go over and/or 2-3 questions from treatment plans that need to be re-evaluated.
